Going into their final week of the regular season, the West Fork softball team was desperate for a win. The Warhawks had been enduring through a three-game skid, with the Class 2A-Region 5 Tournament quickly approaching.
The girls in red and black had to wait until June 30 to get back to the win column, seeing their contest against Osage get cancelled due to inclement weather that rolled through the area. When June 30 did come, West Fork accomplished victory in stunning fashion, upsetting North Butler 4-3 on Senior Night at the West Fork Baseball/Softball Complex in Sheffield.
