Heavy rains cause State of Emergency

Franklin County is now in a State of Emergency, according to Thomas Creighton after the rains over the last 24 hours. Preliminary data from the National Weather Service, Des Moines, said that average rain fall for Hampton over the last 48 hours was 3.16 inches. 
 
Roads closed as of Thursday, Sept. 22 include:
Cardinal Ave.
Eagle Ave.
Finch Ave.
Nettle Ave., just West of Sheffield
 
Harriman Park is closed, Hampton
 
The only hard surface road closed at this time, according to the Sheriff and County Engineer Jay Waddingham is Tulip Ave. and 210th.
