Election officials would have more time to mail absentee ballots to voters under a bill that advanced Tuesday, February 15, 2022 in the Iowa House of Representatives. Currently, early in-person voting and the mailing of absentee ballots begin 20 days before Election Day. Lawmakers voted along party lines (57 to 37) in February 2021 to shorten early in-person voting and the mailing of absentee ballots down from 29 days and from 40 days four years ago.
