Richland Lutheran Church of Thornton held a Bible-Basketball Clinic on Saturday, September 10 th at the newly refurbished downtown basketball court. The event included a Bible story of Jesus telling the parable of the Lost Sheep from St. Luke Chapter 15, a message about how Jesus seeks and saves the lost just like a shepherd who will diligently seeks to find a lost sheep, a prayer, and a song. The participants joined in learning basic basketball skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense using fun drills and games. All went home with a new basketball with the words written on it: “I am Jesus’ little lamb” along with the signatures of all who attended. There were 6 young participants and 8 youth and adults who helped do the coaching. The weather was perfect and everyone had a very good time. Hopefully more of these clinics can be held next summer.
