Nelson Receives Democratic Nomination For District 2 Seat

John Drury is running an independent campaign following the results of the Democratic Convention on Wednesday.

     Doug Nelson received the Democratic nomination for the hotly contested County Supervisor seat for Cerro Gordo County’s District 2 during a special party convention on Wednesday, June 18.

     After a four-way primary battle between Nelson, Adam Wedmore, Michael Grandon, and John Drury, none of the candidates received the required 35% of the vote needed to secure the Democratic nomination. Instead, the decision was left to the 13 delegates of the Cerro Gordo County Democrats.

     Going in alphabetical order, the four candidates each received three minutes of time to make their pitch to the 13 delegates that would decide who gains the nomination.
