Quilts of Valor Foundation honors area military veterans

Quilts of Valor Foundation for North Central Iowa honored a number of area military veterans for their loyal years of service.

Dianne Weide of the area chapter began the program at the Meservey Legion Hall by providing a background of the history of Quilts of Valor.

The national group was founded in 2003 by Catherine Roberts, who is a quilter and mother of a military son deployed to Iraq in 2003.
