Sheffield area to start Farmers Market

Soon residents of Sheffield will be able to buy local produce and products at a new Farmers Market in town.

The idea of a Farmers Market was discussed at the “Its Your Town” meeting held at the end of May, and the idea has evolved since then. A committee was formed, with City Clerk Katy Flint leading it, according to Sheffield Mayor Nick Wilson.

Flint and two other volunteers were tasked with working out all the logistics of the market. That discussion naturally started with time and location.

The group decided on Mondays from 5 to 7 p.m. starting on July 11. It will be held in the empty lot at the corner of Gilman and South 2nd Street in Sheffield.
