Slow enrollment growth and low state funding have forced a tightening of the West Fork Community School District budget and without an increase in funding, Superintendent Darrin Strike said class sizes could grow and programs could be cut.

     He said the district has made as many cuts as possible, and he is joining a group of north Iowa superintendents in Des Moines today to push legislators for increased education funding.

     “We want to go in with a unified voice and express our concerns,” he said. “Every district will be in a different situation to weather these storms.”
