Supervisors review first draft of wind farm ordinance

The Franklin County Board of Supervisors reviewed the first draft of a new ordinance that would regulate wind farm development during their regular meeting on Monday, March 7.

One of the primary purposes of the ordinance is to protect rural residents from the noise that wind turbines produce. The ordinance sets a limit of 45 decibels for wind turbines and established protocols for measuring that level.
