Warhawks grow as team facing top-ranked Saints

SHEFFIELD – Sometimes things in life are bigger than football.

As West Fork head coach Eric Gabe’s hometown was ravaged by a couple of small tornadoes and extensive flooding last week, his team signed on to help with clean-up in Greene this week.

In the meantime, his Warhawks showed no backing down from the top-ranked team in Class A in an eventual 41-21 loss to St. Ansgar at home on Friday, Sept. 23.

“On Monday, we’re going to North Butler my old hometown and it’s a really proud thing for me to take my guys that I’m extremely proud of back to my hometown that has given me so much,” Gabe said…
