The town of Meservey will have a public meeting to discuss the possibility of expanding the fire department building, as announced at the City Council meeting on June 13.
The public hearing will be July 11 at 7 p.m. and the Council is looking at agreeing to a set of loans totaling $81,000 from First Security Bank. The loans would be used to expand the existing fire department structure, so that a bigger pumping truck can be purchased in the future.
The Council also fielded complaints about a $15.00 water surcharge on resident’s latest utility bills. It was explained that a notice was sent out a month prior to the surcharge being implemented.
