Mother and two children found dead in Bedfordshire home, police say
Officers forced entry into a property in Great Denham, Bedfordshire, after concerns grew for three people who had not been seen for several days. Inside, they found the bodies of a woman and two children.
Bedfordshire Police said the woman and children had not yet been formally identified. Investigators believe the three people may have been murdered, and the case quickly became a homicide inquiry.

Police were called on Monday, July 6, 2026, over the welfare concerns. Bedfordshire Police said they have identified a suspect who was known to all three victims and who they believe has since left the country.
Assistant Chief Constable John Murphy described the case as an "incredibly complex investigation." He said there was nothing to suggest any wider risk to the public, even as officers continued to piece together what happened inside the home.

Police said they would increase their presence in and around Great Denham to support the investigation and reassure residents. The visible response is aimed at a community confronting one of the most serious cases to hit the area, while detectives work to establish the identities of the dead and the movements of the suspected offender.

The force has not released further details about the victims or the suspected circumstances of their deaths. For now, the investigation centres on the timeline before the three were found, the suspect known to them, and the steps needed to track that person after leaving the country.
