Two anglers from Rockwell recently won the biggest walleye tournament in the state.
The Clear Lake Fishing Club held its 27th annual Spring Walleye Classic May 21-22. There were 100 boats in the competition with teams of two per boat.
Aaron Petersen and Jason Dick, both of Rockwell and both active members of the Clear Lake Fishing Club, dominated the competition, winning by over seven pounds.
“We usually cash a check more often than not,” Petersen said. “Last year we didn’t do very well, but this year we did the exact opposite.”
