The Sheffield City Council on Monday met with Karen Mitchell, executive director of Franklin County Development Association (FCDA), for an informal update on the county’s economic happenings. Mitchell informed the council that Franklin County is considered to be at full employment and is in need of new workers to fill existing job demand.
“As you’re probably aware, we are facing a challenge with our population,” she said.
Compounding the population problem is the issue of housing. While housing development isn’t the specialty of FCDA, they are looking at ways to encourage potential developers to move on new housing.
