CLEAR LAKE – Free throws proved to be the difference in a tightly-called Class 1A Substate 2 final at Clear Lake High School on Monday, Feb. 26.

 

A total of 31 fouls were assessed between West Fork and sixth-ranked Don Bosco as the Dons emerged with the 53-44 victory to advance to the state tournament next week in Des Moines.

 

The Warhawks close the season at 19-6.

 

“The game was won and lost on the free throw line,” West Fork coach Frank Schnoes said. “And that’s part of the game…”
