Squirrel steals spotlight as Orioles beat Tigers at Comerica Park

A black squirrel sprinted across the outfield at Comerica Park and turned the Tigers-Orioles matchup into a live-ballpark spectacle before nearly the entire grounds crew hauled it away. The interruption came during Baltimore’s 8-5 win in Detroit, and the crowd treated the animal like a surprise guest star.

The squirrel first rattled Tigers reliever Tyler Holton when it moved near the Detroit bullpen, then kept darting around the field as the game moved into the late innings. Orioles outfielder Leody Taveras also got pulled into the scramble while trying to shoo the animal away, adding another layer of chaos to a night that had already drifted far beyond the box score.
